Our Instructors

Peter Halldén

Peter is co head instructor and all around nice guy at the gym. Peter is involved in almost all that goes on in the club from teaching Gi-classes, SW-classes and kids-classes.
Peter works for the government and is also the lead singer of Swedish rock band JD Miller. He’s also father of two and lives with his beautiful wife just outside Borås.
People often wonder how many hours Peters days have…
Peter is a brown belt promoted by Paul Persson of Samuraj JJK in Jönköping.

Oliver Ström

Oliver is the toughest guy at the gym and co head instructor. Oliver won the Swedish Submission Wrestling championship as a blue belt in 2017 beating several black belts in the process. In 2021 he took home the silver medal in true Craig Jones style in the Swedish National Championships in BJJ. You’ll see him teaching the SW-classes together with Mattias but he frequents teaching in the Gi as well when he’s not kicking everyones ass. When he’s not at the gym he works as a fire fighter. Oliver is a brown belt promoted by Paul Persson of Samuraj JJK in Jönköping.

Mattias Frisk

Mattias is the coolest dude at the gym. He walks around in t-shirts with Stockton Jiu Jitsu prints and tries not to get submitted by Oliver and Peter. You’ll mainly see Mattias instructing at the NoGi-classes together with Oliver but also at the youngest kids class together with Peter were he also brings his son Julian.
Mattias works as a music teacher and when he’s not teaching music he indie-pop-rocks as a singer with Swedish band Kid Galahad. Mattias is a purple belt promoted by Peter Halldén and Oliver Ström.

Claudio Jerez

The hardest man in the world to sweep when on two knees?!? Who knows?!? Claudio has been training BJJ and Submission wrestling since the early 2010:s and is one of our kids instructors with the 7-13 yr olds. Claudio is a social worker, dad and despite his South American temper he’s got the biggest heart. Claudio is a purple belt promoted by Peter Halldén and Oliver Ström.

Johan Florén

Johan got his brown belt back in 2008 in Stockholm and after a longer hiatus he’s know rocking and rolling at Borås Grappling Academy. Johan teaches our early bird rolling sessions on Mondays and Fridays. Beware of this mans butterfly guard.

Emil Bergqvist

Emil has been around the grappling arts since 2010 when he attended his first class at Frontline Oslo and then later that summer at Fightgym Borås. Emil is the BOSS (Chairman of the board) of our association and helps out when he’s needed as an instructor. Emil works at AB Bostäder in Borås and attends classes as long as his knees, kids and wife allows it!
Emil is purple belt promoted by Paul Persson of JJK Samuraj in Jönköping.
